Seeking Lead-Developer for Web2.0 Search & Review startup in NY
Do you have a passion to use web technology for helping people find, connect and communicate? Want to get in on the ground level of a promising company, as a co-founder? If you’re a self-motivated, entrepreneurial developer then keep reading!
We`re looking for a passionate, communicative, hands-on technologist, with strong development skills, to help us launch and grow our business.
We have a fully functional Beta site for an online listing, search and review platform that helps consumers and providers to connect with each other. We are looking to build-out multiple revenue channels including e-commerce, commissions, lead generation, advertising and subscription.
As a partner in our business, the Lead Developer and possible future CTO will make substantive contributions to the development process beyond simply executing it. He or she will also be deeply involved in product strategy, feature prioritization and business strategy. Nothing is off limits, we are looking for a true partner.
Your role will range from writing code to managing early hires and making strategic decisions. Your responsibilities are architecting, implementing and managing our online platform. Providing overall technical guidance, ideas, and leadership. Using your tech savvy to solve business problems and create business opportunities. You should enjoy writing code, but as importantly have an eye for design and user experience. This is a hands on, collaborative role, and is integral to the company`s success.
First order of business for you will be to transition our entire site from our current web developer to a new home. The site was built using Grails ( http://grails.org/ ) Secondly, we want to scale our website and migrate to Amazon.
Skills
Motivated self-starter / entrepreneurial / excellent communicator
Business-sense / solutions-focused / loves continuous learning
Flexible and able to work in a start-up environment
Experience
Experience with Java, JQuery, MySQL, PHP, HTML + JavaScript
Knowledge of Java script and AJAX (Looking for someone who will not get freaked out by Java script or Ajax code)
Knowledge of current Web 2.0 technologies (know the "cool" programmer trends that are floating around the internet)
Knowledge or desire to learn Grails Database scaling experience and prior work with Amazon Web Services a huge plus.
Compensation
Our company is funded by two founders, and employs 2-3 part time employees. We are looking to raise new funds as soon as we publicly launch our existing Beta site. Generous equity compensation, plus committed cash compensation upon milestones.
